Sunday, November 14th – The offices of Q LTD were filled with people eating, drinking, and chatting. Everyone was waiting for the motion picture to begin. This was not the first Q “movie night”. But, it was the first time that the featured film was written and directed by a Q employee. It was the world premiere of “Millicent and the Amulet”, an independent film by Marta Prucha (Q’s interactive producer).
Marta graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2003 with a BA in both interactive multimedia and film. As part of her curriculum, she completed production on her thesis film during her final semester. “Millicent and the Amulet” is the story of a father (David) and daughter (Emily) who struggle over creative jealousy. David, no longer the successful writer he once was, discovers that Emily has the creative spark that he has lost.
Marta’s friends, family, and colleagues gathered in support, as her film was projected in front of a large audience for the first time. Among the members of the audience was Q friend and client Kathryn Hall from Terumo Cardiovascular Systems. Kathryn provided voice talent for the film as the narrator of Emily’s fairy tale.
Marta says that there are no other films currently in the works, as she is looking forward to a much needed rest at the close of her three-year project.
