Q Work

Ann Arbor Folk Festival

Again this year, Q is designing and producing all the promotional materials for the Ann Arbor Folk Festival, The Ark's annual fund-raising and music extravaganza. In 2007, the Folk Festival will feature some of the finest in traditional and contemporary music, with Rufus Wainwright as headliner on Friday, January 26th and John Prine on Saturday, January 27th, reprising his role as headliner of the very first Ann Arbor Folk Festival 30 years ago. 1981 Fact
Q Alumni

I was only 20 years old when I joined the Q crew. So young, so impressionable. I was truly “raised” by the Q cast of characters. By Tom and his overwhelming writing talent and his inspiring outlook on the world. By Christine and her devotion to her family and her extreme talent for achieving balance in her life. By Jeff and his poise and professionalism in every situation. By Todd and his sense of humor and passion for life. By Robin Johnson and her sweetness and appreciation for all things creative. And there were many others whose lives I only bumped briefly. I can see little pieces of all of them in me every day. More.

Hollander's

Hollander's has selected Q to design and develop an all-new e-commerce web site.

"Hollander's has been an Ann Arbor icon for many years and has created a unique environment for the book and paper arts community," said Christine Golus, VP, Creative Director. "We are thrilled to capture the warmth and inspiration of their physical store on their new web site." Q LTD's work will focus on research into the customer journey, establishing a new design and interaction system, and launching a robust e-commerce platform. The new site is scheduled to launch early 2007 at www.hollanders.com.

I’m attracted to minimalism: less clutter, less decoration, focusing on the essentials. It’s a desirable and important concept, one that is expressed in a variety of ways. More.

1981 saw my exciting, but brief, debut in ballet as a Chinese Lantern in Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. Having limited success in this art, I resumed my ambition on becoming a closet violinist and model 4th grade student.

In the summer of 1981, at the tender age of ten, I was turned on to what would become a years-long obsession with BMX bikes and stunt riding in particular. Growing up in a farming town that seemed to have eschewed child labor law, there were always plenty of summer job opportunities in the farmers' fields and I have distinct memories of weeding row after row of onions and celery and dreaming about buying more and cooler bike stuff. It was only in high school, after meeting the girl who's now my wife, that I was able to wean myself from this obsession of being airborne on bikes.
