Bivoauc's Latest Adventure

After 35 years of business on South State Street, Bivouac's owner Ed Davidson and his business partner Lisa Weiss sought a new adventure in retail apparel and equipment. Together with the design and interactive teams at Q LTD, they launched bivouacannarbor.com on August 23rd.

"Our biggest challenge was designing a web site that catered to all segments of Bivouac's business: fashion apparel, outdoor apparel, and outdoor gear," says Julie Tikekar, Project Manager. "With such a broad range of high-end brands, we wanted to create a tool that would allow Bivouac to explore the new web-based ways to merchandise and promote their products."

Bivouac and Q will monitor the web site activity through the back-to-school shopping period before optimizing the site with additional shopping, promotion, and navigation features.

My Memories of Q
by Angela Diebolt

Angela Diebolt

I could tell Q was a special place the first time I stepped into the office. Maybe because of the toys I saw on display in the office window. Maybe it was the music echoing in the open, airy space. Maybe it was the way I was greeted by broad, genuine smiles.

I had done my research: I knew Q LTD did good work, had great clients, and a solid history. What I wanted to see was the environment, the people, the management style. Back in 1998 I had energy, passion, and countless hours to apply to my work. I wanted to be pushed. I wanted to grow. Q is that type of place.

In the end, it's all about the people. Q is an amazing group of multi-talented, interesting, intelligent, and thoughtful people. Working with such people provides a rich experience unlike any other.

I feel proud to have been associated with this group. ThankQ.

109-113 Catherine

109 Catherine in 1918

Many buildings are changed as new uses are found for them, but the building at 109-113 Catherine has gone through a more dramatic transformation than most. The simple tile block structure was built around 1918, and in its first four years was used as an auto livery, junk store, agricultural implement store, and harness factory. In 1922 it became the City Garage, and for the next forty years, it bore the stamp of its energetic, promotion-minded owner, Ed Kuhn. More.

Barking Crab

Q's second 25th-anniversary celebration, July 30 in Boston, attracted Q friends from around the world to the Barking Crab, a seafood joint with a dramatic view of downtown. The weather was perfect. So was the timing; the first day of SIGGRAPH 2006. And one group of guests pulled off an astounding surprise. More.

Q Crew: 1981

1981 was a year full of endings and beginnings, graduation ceremonies and orientation meetings, culminating recitals and freshman auditions, senior proms and frat parties. Little did I know, as I began to test my wings as a freshman at Washington State University, that Q was also beginning its own journey.

Two years younger than Q, I may have looked something like this in 1981, when I was but a pair of cells waiting to collide.
