An Update from the Old World

Hallo from Deutschland! Well, I’ve survived my first 2 weeks despite the terrifying European driving style. Although it’s all been new and exciting, I’ll just share a few highlights so far.

• Parading through the Wilhelmstrassefest (Wilhelm Street Festival) with a professional model

• Taking a North German-style shooter (and spilling it all over myself)

• Seeing the German songstress Lena crowned the new EuroVision Star

• Frequenting an eiscafe (ice cream shop) called Cortina, named after the region from which my family comes, Cortina d’Ampezzo

• A gondola-ride overlooking the Rheingau vineyards and the River Rhine

• Walking through an 800-year-old monastery
